His Excellency Ali Bin Saad Al Hajiri, Ambassador for the State of Qatar to Australia, delivered a keynote address at the high-level business seminar "Gateway to the Gulf: Opportunities and Strategies," hosted by Global Victoria in conjunction with the 14th World Chambers Congress, held in Melbourne from 2-4, September 2025. The State of Qatar was also represented in the Congress by His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, accompanied by an official delegation.
In his remarks, His Excellency Ambassador Al-Hajri highlighted the strong and growing relationship between the State of Qatar and Australia, founded on the two nations’ shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and economic diversification. His Excellency cited the newly established partnership between Barzan University College in Qatar and Swinburne University of Technology as a exemplary model of the advanced cooperation between the State of Qatar and the State of Victoria in the fields of education and technology.
Ambassador Al Hajri also called for the ongoing dialogue between governments, industry, and academia to foster the exchange of expertise and harness complementary strengths. He identified key sectors for enhanced collaboration—such as artificial intelligence, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and sustainable agriculture—as strategic areas for expanding trade and investment ties between Qatar and the State of Victoria.
