Work Experience

  • His Excellency Ambassador AL Mahmoud commenced his duties as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar Australia, on 29/08/2018. He served as the Consul General of the State of Qatar in Karachi, Pakistan 2013-2017, and had a diplomatic posting working as Counsellor at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Amman, Jordan 2008-2013.
  • His Excellency Ambassador AL Mahmoud’s prior professional experience encompassed working at the Ministry of Municipality and Agriculture for the period, 1993-1997 and at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for the period, 1997-2005.Ambassador Al Mahmoud worked for Qatar Armed Forces for the period 1990-1991.
  • His Excellency Ambassador Al Mahmoud’s diplomatic career commenced in 2005 when he joined the Department of the GCC of the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • His Excellency Ambassador AL Mahmoud participated in several regional and international conferences representing the State of Qatar including meetings of the Secretariat General of the GCC. Ambassador AL Mahmoud also was an official Qatari delegate in several meetings of UNRWA in Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
